Problem
The factory wants to know energy consumption per production line and detect overloads, phase imbalance and peak hours to cut electricity costs.
Architecture
- Each branch cabinet gets 1 multifunction meter with an RS-485 port (Modbus RTU) + current transformers.
- The meters share one RS-485 line to the data logger (gateway).
- The gateway reads every 5–15 seconds and sends data to the server via MQTT or HTTPS.
- Dashboard on OctaX: kWh per shift, peak demand, alerts via Telegram/app.
Bill of materials (for 6 branch cabinets)
| Item | SL |
|---|---|
| 3-phase multifunction meter, RS-485 | 6 |
| Current transformers sized to the cabinet's rated current | 18 |
| Gateway Modbus → MQTT/4G | 1 |
| Shielded twisted-pair cable, 120 Ω termination resistor | 1 lot |
Deployment notes
- Assign a different Modbus address to each meter; use the same baud rate.
- Wiring inside the electrical cabinet must be done by a certified electrician; cut the power when installing solid-core current transformers.
